Confusion about NLP upgrade from 2.3 to 2.4

I have finally upgraded from NLP 2.3 to 2.4, but am confused about something.

LrC reports the location of the 2.4.2 plugin as:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/NegativeLabPro.lrplugin

But the date on that file according to MacOS is Nov 22, 2022 — the date I installed 2.3.

So how come LrC reports the 2.4.2 plugin is what seems to be a 2.3 plugin?

Thanks in advance, and please be kind if this is a dumb question. I did search the forums for an answer, but did not find anything.

Finder displays dates according to what the installer sets upon installation.Creation dates are usually some time before Installation, And the same goes for change dates.

I just installed NLP version 3 from a fresh downloaded - and the dates show as follows:

That’s very informative. Thank you.

Now I added to the view Date Added, which matches the time I upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4 today.

But I still don’t get how Finder is showing the 2.4 file being created and modified as of when I installed 2.3. Does that make sense?

Coincidence? Normally creation and modification dates are set by the installer based on how it’s set to do so. Maybe you installed version 2.3 when Nate put together the installer for 2.4, maybe not. Anyways, it’s nothing to worry about.

Depending on what your backup strategy is, you might find the original installers and check dates on these. But again, why bother?
