How sharp should I expect them to be?

my apologoes for the delay in replying. I tested positive for covid and was out for a few days. ugh.
the original slides are very detailed and in focus. the rocks in the one Grand Canyon photos and the aircraft in the PDK are all in focus and have good clear close detail. This is all noticeable under an 8 x loupe and with projection.

I’ll shoot at f8 and 5.6 to see if there is an improvement.

more to come…

thanks for everyone’s kind help in this.

Check out this page and shoot a test negative at all apertures in order to find the one that suits you best. I expect you’ll get the best results between f/4 and f/5.6…

Vlad’s Test Target is very useful for this type of appraisal, and also pay attention to Burkphoto’s bullet points above for getting the best out of your system.

hi! I just go the xf 80 mm macro lens. did you ever find a solution?

Hello. I never was able to get the slides dialed in. The lens is extraordinary. You made a smart purchase.
My issues are probably operator error and not the lens and camera.

Enjoy!

Typically what’re you camera settings f stop, aperture and exposure?
