I’ve recently moved from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom CC in order to take advantage of the cloud ecosystem. I still use Lightroom Classic for NLP though and once I’m happy with my neg conversions I revert to Lightroom CC.

I have however run into an issue with the NLP .dcp profiles. In macOS Lightroom CC the NLP .dcp profiles can be imported and work as expected, however because the dcp profiles follow Adobe’s old non-xmp format, according to Adobe they cannot be used in the cloud ecosystem (browser based Lightroom, or iOS Lightroom). @nate are there any plans to create new xmp based profiles to cater for users who may want to use the new Lightroom?

Hi @snew,

That’s odd… I’m just looking into this and there may be a bug on Adobe’s side on this quite recently…

Did you receive any kind of specific error message when you try? If so, can you share a screenshot?

Unless something major has changed, I don’t think that’s correct… dcp files have not been replaced by xmp files. They are two separate things. The DCP file is the underlying profile which is used to interpret the RAW data. The XMP files are are “enhanced presets,” which provide some advanced options that work on TOP of an DCP file.

NLP uses both custom DCP files (to interpret the RAW data from scratch) and enhanced preset XMP files (which contain instructions to use the custom DCP file, along with additional instructions).

If I use Lightroom CC macOS the profiles are available and no error appears. If I try to open the same photos in Lightroom iOS or browser based Lightroom then I see a Missing Profile error.

Oddly I have successfully managed to sync other DCP files on the Lightroom CC ecosystem, ones from Lumariver Profile Designer and 3DLUT creator, though not the NLP profiles.

I have tried speaking with Adobe support about it. Their webchat couldn’t figure it out and made it sound like unexpected behaviour. Though I received a message from Adobe on their Community forum saying;

Thanks for sharing…

This is news to me and I don’t see any other information from Adobe on this anywhere else, or any distinctions on the difference or change in DCP format. It also seems that this just recently stopped working with the latest release of LR Mobile… so I’m not entirely convinced it isn’t just a bug…

But one thought I had… did you import BOTH the DCP files and the Enhanced XMP files? You will need both of these for it to work.

**The DCP files are here:**

Mac: `[Macintosh HD] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CameraProfiles / NegativeLab Camera Profiles`

Win: `C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ CameraProfiles \ NegativeLab Camera Profiles`

**… and the enhanced XMP files are here:**

Mac: `[Macintosh HD] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / Settings / NLP Enhanced Settings`

Win: `C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ Settings \ NLP Enhanced Settings`

Hi,

After converting the negatives, a message indicates that the NLP lab 2.3 profile is missing.
Can anyone explain to me the reason?
THANKS

Hi @GUERENNEUR,

What are you using for scanning? It’s possible I don’t have a profile yet for your camera or scanner.

hello, I scan either with an RPS 10 M or with a Leica + macro lens.
conversions are correct, but it still says NLP profile is missing regardless of scanner
