Scans with oversaturated colours (cyan mostly)

Hi all,

I’ve read through the existing threads on color casts but haven’t found something that matches what I’m seeing, so apologies if I’ve missed an obvious answer.

The problem: I’m converting TIFF scans from a pro lab, and most of my outdoor frames come out oversaturated with a strong cyan shade — skies go turquoise, greens go teal, and reds in the rock are pushed hard. Indoor frames seem much less affected.

This is the original Tiff

No white balance applied before conversion, since these are TIFFs rather than raw files — is that actually correct for lab TIFFs, or should I still be setting a WB point off the film base?

I’m using the version 3.1.1 and these are the setting used to convert

Difficult indeed:

…but still not quite as juicy as your conversion.

Did you reset your image in NLP’s first tab between retries?
Have you tried the sliders on NLP’s second tab?

Looks like the scans leave you with a wide playground in which you can (and should) try all possible and improbable sliders and see what they do. They might prove useful:

Last mile done with HSL sliders of Lightroom.

PS: I find that images with camel-hump histograms tend to be difficult to adjust. They almost always require fiddling in Lightroom, as positive copies, with local adjustments etc.
