The crappy part is this is only gonna generate more Q1 funding for them, followed by lagging Q2-4 numbers, which they will likely use as an excuse to eliminate the 20GB plan for everyone. As an IT professional, I hate SaaS services for precisely this reason. Pay for software once. The only thing that should be a subscription is support.
I’d love to see support for alternative software integration besides Lightroom Classic. Some free, open source options would be such a boon to the community and to folk getting into an already expensive hobby/career. My preference honestly would be for a NLP standalone app.
Nate has already stated in another post that he is working on a standalone version and hopes to release it later in the year.

Hi Nate, any news on the possibility of a stand alone version? I’m another who’s had it with lightroom subscription prices, I use it about 5 times a year only for negative lab pro, which makes it crazy expensive.
