That’s right. The metadata will not be embedded in the original DNG, only the exported files run through the NLP export presets. If you overrode the metadata in the original DNG, it could lead to some issues in the way the file is interpreted by Lightroom because it relies on some of that metadata (like camera body, lens, etc) to know how to interpret the RAW.
Is there a way for you to make the ability that NLP generates a keyword every time I add something in the NLP metadata panel? This way, I’ll have this information embedded into DNG even though I’m not using Lightroom, which is important to have.
I’m religiously adding NLP metadata to all scanned photos, but they would be all lost if something happens to my LrC catalogue. That’s why I’m using keywords instead collections, I’m using stars instead picks/rejects, because these are embeded into DNG metadata, and not only in the LrC catalogue.
