So I am still confused and don’t know whether I should use the ‘Adobe Color’ profile or another one when I edit my scans of slide film. I am trying to find the NLP Natural profile or whatever it was called. I just want the most accurate color profile to start with.
I have NLP 3.0
Macbook Pro
Lightroom Classic 14.0.1
You can find the natural profiles in LrC’s Develop module under “Presets” in Lr’s left sidebar.
Pick any profile that makes your images look like you want them to look. Whether applying a profile before NLP is used makes sense or not, you’ll find when you check the profile that is used by NLP. This info can be found at the top end of the basic settings tab in Lr’s righthand sidebar of the Develop module. As of now, the guide has no chapter on slides yet, but you might want to check it out nevertheless.
Other than that: Try, observe and learn how to do the things that fit your bill.
NLP 3.1 has a native slide function, but would require an upgrade. Test it out and decide if you want it. Works great.
This topic gets spoken about from time to time but here is what I landed on after a long, in-depth conversation that got deep. I have stuck with my version for most slides except the occasional problem child. Here are my DIY version examples.
Linear from the new version (3.1.1 I think) should be the one. check whether you have the latest version of NLP, otherwise you wont have the “Positive Film” option in the “Conversion” step.
