Old digital back for scanning

Hi everyone,

I got my hands on a Leaf Aptus-II 10R digital back for a photo project, and I’m thinking about using it for scanning. Does anyone have experience with this type of back? I’d like to know whether it’s worth investing in, because I already have a Hasselblad 500CM but no macro lens. I was thinking of using it with a bellows and my usual lens, an APO-Rodagon 80mm (mounted on a shutter I already own). But I’m having trouble figuring out whether that could actually work. The shutter would need to be connected to the back via the sync cable anyway. But what about the body itself? Do I just set it to T exposure for the whole session?

Thanks for your help

From a theoretical point of view, the combo you propose should work, depending on the intended zoom level. If the bellows device is too deep, getting closer towards infinity focus might be limited. Just try what you can do with the gear you have.

There is no difference in taking a picture of a tree than snapping a negative (except for the obvious things) and if you can focus in live view, shutter and mirror can be moved away. Without live view, the usual procedures apply.

Thank you. I will look for bellows and try it this way.
