Hi everyone! I’m a beginner when it comes to scanning my own film. I used an Epson v600 with a scanning software of SilverFast 9. When I’m converting my negatives to the Negative Lab Pro, the image was pixelated, so I assume there is a problem with my resolution and stuff. So I put the 300 dpi with 3200 resolution I copied these out of YouTube, and all of my files are TIFF since I’m using Negative Lab Pro. I need some guidance Thank you!
Hi, it’s not really clear from your question which part of the process is saved in TIFF. So Here’s three different parts that I thought you might refer to in the question. I also made little gifs for you easily recognise the buttons I am referring to
In Silverfast, you can try to change the file type in file name setting.
Alternatively, if your Positives are saved as TIFFs when Saving Them in NLP, You can change that in Advanced Tab → Positive Copy Settings → Format.
If you were referring to Lightroom Exporting TIFF files , this can be changed in the Export Settings under the File Settings Tab.
In regards to the pixelation, is it possible you Have smart previews set to ON in Lightroom? It’s not full quality image preview, however Exported Image is rendered in Full Quality. This can be sometimes turned on to make LR run better on some Hardware.
Hope this helps!
