Any Documentation on the Tiff Scan Prep Utility

Is there any documentation on the tiff prep utility? I’ve looked around on the site and there’s nothing that describes using the Gamma Settings or Input Gamma in that utility. I’ll use the defaults for now.

If I’m using the tiff prep, LR6 creates a new Tiff and combine both.
The size is doubled too. Is that correct?

LR shows both together, the histogram is wider, so it seems the right way, but consumes much HD-space…
