Images appear overexposed after scanning in Silverfast and then converting in NLP

Hello! I scan my images in Silverfast using the settings NLP recommends. I initially scanned these in as tifs to see how they looked and they were not overexposed. But after scanning in Silverfast as an HDR Raw DNG and converting through NLP, the model’s skin looks overexposed and I’m not able to bring it back.

Here’s what it looks like after converting in NLP:

Here’s the initial image scanned in as a tif:

Hi there! Did you resolve this issue?

I have the same issue. Any suggestions?

Silverfast 9.1.7 - RAW DNG + NLP

I seem to recall there was a separate thread on this same topic a while back, but in any case, I would recommend changing the “tone profile” to "Cinematic - Log" and adjusting from there.

All the edits in NLP are non-destructive, so all of the information is there, it just may be that the default conversion has been a bit aggressive. Changing the “Tone Profile” and other settings (like “highlights” and the “whiteClip” setting) should really help!

You can also experiment with the “brightness” slider if you find that your images appear “blown out” with the initial conversion.
