I am very impressed with the performance of the RaLeno PLV-S192 LED video light panel.
It’s much much brighter, very uniform, and several times cheaper.
I bought it on Amazon for $47.99.

While brightness uniformity is important, it is only factor in choosing a light. Equally or more important is CRI (colour rendering index). SPD (spectral power distribution) shows the power emitted at each wavelength but tells us little about the CRI which describes how a light source makes the colour of an object appear to human eyes and how well subtle variations in colour shades are revealed.
A light may have perfect uniformity but introduce a horrible colour cast.
The Raleno PLV-S192 has a claimed CRI of 95 which would suggest it is a very good light in more ways than pne.

Next time, I will measure the CRI of two lights.

Thank you — a valuable post. There should be a thread about light sources with this method of test.

I don’t think this expression is good.

So, are all of the people who posted positive reviews on Amazon about the film scan quality of this product a salesperson?
