Relative WhiteBalance Shifts

A really useful feature is to save relative temperature changes to the Auto-Neutral settings. It is very often that the negative has a certain cast will change from film to film based on various materials we use and the light settings on the scene. When we pick the white balance off the film strip, it gives you a reference point for computing the “Auto-Neutral” settings. However, I would like to have certain customization that allows me to shift the temperature to cooler or warmer from the “Auto-Neutral” reference point that you have already computed. Sort of like a +X/-Y settings on top of the auto detected WB.

Yep! You can already do this (and some of the included presets do this).

Just leave the WB set at AutoNeutral, then manually adjust the “mids” color slider. These work the same as the “Temp/Tint” sliders, just with the addition of a Cyan/Red adjustment channel.

So if you want it to always be a little warmer than auto-neutral, just add yellow and a little red or magenta to taste in the mids tab.
