Stand alone NLP or anything but Adobe

I can see that there have been a few posts regarding a stand alone version or use with anything other than Adobe. These discussions were last year does anyone know if there are any plans for it.

I’m leaving Adobe after 22 years of using it professionally, I dont like the way its going and I also get far better results from DXO PL. The only thing keeping me shackled to Adobe is NLP

Any updates would be really useful.

You might have missed @nate ‘s posts about his effort for a standalone version. ETA is not communicated yet, so don’t hold your breath.

As for DxO: PhotoLab has no provisions for third party plug-ins. There seems to be some development that might (or might not) point in the direction of negative conversion with FilmPack. Current implementations feel rather rudimentary as of now. Look around DxO’s forum for more comments. PhotoLab can easily be used for manual conversions without FilmPack - like any editor that can flip a tone curve. Run the trials and do your math … DxO software is expensive, specially if you upgrade on a yearly basis. Also read the posts about licensing- and support issues.

This is probably the most recent, and Autocrop is in beta-testing now:

Thank you, in FilmPack 8 there is an invert image which i am looking at but thats not available within DXO like all the other sliders are which is a shame

I am really fed up with Adobe now. Their business practices are borderline criminal and it’s especially concering that you can’t cancel the subscription on your own anymore. I had to go through customer service to cancel and even then the only option to cancel it to immediate cancel the supscrtion, even if you have prepaid for everything there is no option to cancel to the last remaining day of your subscription?!? WHY? so you have to manually remind yourself, 24h before your subscription end to cancel. Please @nate we need the standalone app more than ever, you are our only hope.

I’m working on this as fast as I can… it’s a very large undertaking but I’m very near to having something tangible to show off and I think it will be worth the wait!

thanks nate! this was not intended to put any pressure on you. I am just really fed up with everything going on at Adobe and I don’t see the point in paying them any more money. I’d rather spend an extra amount to support NLP, instead of these greedy basterds.
