Vuescan settings for BW

I know it’s been recommended to scan 48bit files eve for BW, but does it matter whether the vuescan Media setting is IMAGE, COLOR NEGATIVE, BW NEGATIVE? I figured the RAW file would not be affected by he Vuescan media setting.

I prefer to use one of the “negative” settings vs “image” because it makes it easier to evaluate images during preview and determine if they should be scanned or skipped over.

The only insight I can provide is that I’ve been using BW Negative as my main import mode. I could not discern any differences in the scans made in Image mode, so I stuck with that.
