An Internal Error Has Occurred ?:0 attempt to index a nil value

This is getting really annoying and I have tried all the solutions I have seen on the forum… Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t sometimes I need to restart lightroom, sometimes I don’t, sometimes I need to restart my mac, sometimes I don’t… and some negatives just don’t want to convert at all… It’s annoying me so much that I gave up on using NLP for my black and white work.

Welcome to the forum @gatsby1923

Which versions of software and OS do you work with?

  • NLP?
  • Lightroom Classic?
  • macOS?
  • Mac hardware and config?

I’ve had these issues too when I updated to Lightroom Classic v13.5 and tested LrC 14. Going back to LrC 13 eliminated these incidents. My config: NLP 3.1.1 / LrC 13.4 / macOS 14.8.

What do you use to capture the negatives?

Hi, can you confirm that you are using the latest version of Negative Lab Pro (v3.1.1)? This error should not be happening on the latest version.

I just got the error today on a brand new Mac Studio. Here are my attempts, in order, with outcome (all from the same batch of Sony aIV raw files):

Success converting 1 image.
Error attempting to convert 3 images.
Success converting over 100 images.
Error attempting to convert 12 images.

NLP: 3.1.1
LrC: 15.1.1 release
macOS: Tahoe 26.2
Mac Studio 2025, Apple M4 Max, 64GB, 1TB

The error:

An internal error has occurred.
bad argument #1 to ‘pairs’ (table expected, got nil)

Edit: Sorry, this looks like a different error now that I’m re-reading. Let me know if I should have posted in another topic.
