Error "exiftool to process metadata" in Lightroom

Hello, I get an error every time after converting the negative and making its positive copy. This isn’t an issue, if I untick “make copy” box.

This wasn’t an issue for me a month ago - everything was working just fine. Now I have to press OK after every single positive copy made - this is highly annoying when dealing with a lot of scans. I’m using Windows 10 Version 22H2, Lightroom 14.0.1., NLP v3.0.2.

Otherwise, loving the program! Hope to find an answer to this issue soon.

Any news on this problem?
I also have this issue, not for every photo, but it’s still annoying

Hello, I too am facing a similar issue. Here’s my setup.
MacOS Sequoia 15.2
Lightroom Classic 14.1.1
Negative Lab Pro v3.0.2
NOTE: My original raw files are stored on a NAS connected over wired gigabit ethernet. I also am attempting to copy the TIF exports to the same location as the raw files.
Every time I select positive copy, I receive a similar exiftool metadata error. Screen capture attached. What’s even more annoying is that this closes all my network connections to the server and stops all processing of TIF files. This results in the second error, no file at path.
This started occurring after I upgraded to Sequoia 15.
At this point, this has rendered NLP completely useless and will force me to switch to a competing product in order to get my work done.

Sadly, no. I have tried to downgrade to a an older version of Lightroom (as the bug appeared around the same time I have upgraded it to 14.0.1), but it made no difference.

Looking into this…

Quick questions for everyone in this forum…

  1. Is the positive copy file still created after you click “OK” on the error"
  2. Have you input any custom Negative Lab Pro metadata in the metadata fields that Negative Lab Pro provides?
  3. Do you still get this warning when you do not use the NLP popup, but instead, right-click an image and select “Export > NLP - Positive Copy - JPEG”?

Thanks!

Hello, Nate.

  1. yes
  2. no, I am using the default one.
  3. yes

Ok, I’m looking into this. In the meantime, here is how you should be able to get around this…

  1. Go to “file > export”
  2. Select “NLP - Positive Copy - JPEG” (or TIFF, just depending on which you want to use)
  3. Uncheck every metadata option, so that nothing is checked
  4. Click “add” near the bottom left of the dialog. Create a custom export preset, named whatever you’d like!
  5. Now, if you need to make a positive copy, you can right click the image, and go to “export > user presets > (YourPresetName)” and it will create a positive copy without changing any of the exif data

The bug is gone! Everything works perfectly fine now, thank you so much.
