Salut, unfortunately I can not install the update on my system running 10.11.6 (15G22010).
Is there a workaround, please?

If you can share screenshots of the full error message when you try to run the installer, that would be helpful!
Also, I assume you are trying the latest installer for version 2.2.0?
If the installer won’t run on your system, you can also manually install all the components. Just download the “windows” package (which has the exact same components as the Mac version, just not in an installer package. Then follow the directions in the README for the Windows version to manually add all the components.
