I converted about 500 negatives - without white balancing and cropping - with NLP. I first wanted to get a rough overview of the photos.
I then wanted to edit some images properly with NLP and reset them in Lightroom. The result of the new conversion with NLP looks extremely bad. Is it possible that some remnants of the first conversion remain after resetting in Lightroom?
If this is the case, how can I restore individual images or even larger quantities of images to their RAW state?
To reset an image, open NLP, go to its first tab and click “un-convert…”, OK and go to the protocol and select the first entry (or any later entry from which you want) to restart editing.
To reset a bigger bunch of images, remove them from Lightroom, optimise its catalog and wait fir LrC to restart. Then, sync the folder you worked on..
In order to be ready for major changes, I mostly convert virtual copies like so:
Top row: original unconverted images
From top to bottom: converted with pre-satuartion set to 1, 2 … 5 respectively
I use star ratings for sorting and reminder, e.g. ***
means pre-saturation set to 3
.
Changing or undoing changing can then be done by changing or deleting and recreating the respective VC(s).
