Hello!

also having this problem, especially with batch conversions. Tried everything mentioned here so far.

My System:

iMac 2020 3,8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7
Sequoia 15.2
NLP 3.0.2

Jumping in on the thread here. I’ve been having the same problem for a while. I gave up on NLP because of it. Just today I tried covering one negative and received the error. I was hoping that it would have been worked out by now.

LCR 14.1.1

Operating System
MacBook Pro 2019 2.3GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
Sequoia 15.3

NLP 3.0.2

I’m repeating myself here: Try NLP 3.0.2 with LrC 13.4

Started to have issues when LrC 13.4 updated to 13.5. Therefore, I downgraded LrC to 13.4 and have tested every update and downgraded to 13.4 again. Still there, things work as expected…on macOS Sonoma on Intel and up to Sequoia on Apple Silicon Mac.

Just updated macOS Sonoma to 14.7.4 and as far as I see, NLP 3.0.2 still works as it did before.

Thank you! Back in action for now.

Looking forward to a fix!

I’m running:

  • macOS Sequoia 15.3
  • Macbook Pro 15" Intel i7 2018
  • No issues with LrC v13.4, but issues in every version thereafter.
  • Trying to convert ARW files from a Sony NEX-5

Hey All!

I am still getting this problem.

-Using Windows 11 Enterprise
-Intel(R) Core™ i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz
-16 Gigs Ram
-NLP V3
-Saving everything to External Seagate Hard drive

Things I have tried:
-Uninstalling and installing lightroom
-Uninstalling and installing Lightroom Classic 13.4
-Uninstalling and Installing Windows 13.5
-Plug-in extras → Update Vuescan Silverfast/DNG
-Plug in Manager ->Reupload plug in on each export
-Scanning using ViewscanDNG Settings
-Exporting DNG
-Changing to 48 Bit Raw
-Changing to 64 bit HDRiRaw

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it version 3.0.2?

I suppose you have tried with Lightroom Classic v13.4 and v13.5 (not Windows 13.5)

Have you reset Lightroom’s settings?

I’m also experiencing this bug — any chance a fix is coming soon?

Can also confirm that I have this problem with an Intel Mac, latest MacOS Sequoia, latest LrC and latest NLP. Downgrading to 13.4 worked.

It’s pretty much unusable for me. It gives me the error randomly, even when converting one negative at a time. I have about 700 of them to do, so not looking forward to doing them one at a time. I also have other catalogs that are using the current version of Lightroom Classic.

Current configuration is
iMac REtina 5k 3.6Ghz 8-core
Radeon Pro 580X 8Gb
64Gb RAM
Sonoma 14.6.1
Lightroom 14.2

I would have thought this bug would have been squashed by now. It’s been doing this for months, if not years.

And no, I’m not downgrading to Lightroom 13.x That’s a non-starter for me.

It looks like some sort of buffer/memory issue. When it fails, it shows a number of steps in the Develop module:
Multiple Settings
Export
Camera Raw Settings
Multiple Settings
Camera Raw Settings…

And sometimes I get multiple iterations of these steps, depending on if I tried to run the plug-inb more than once.

Please just fix it.

so be it…and you’ll probably have to wait for NLP version 3.1. to get a fix.
Nate has posted a link to download NLP 3.1 beta in an other thread.

Question: I was using Negative Lab Pro from a work computer that was storing apps and appdata in the organizations onedrive cloud. The NLP extension was being stored in the cloud. So when I went to convert, the NLP program was behind a firewall (no extensions allowed). Question, If I factory reset my computer and get all the company junk off of there, will NLP still remember the device I installed it on?

I am getting this bug too. I am on an Intel Mac, 27" 2019 with the Radeon Pro 580X 8GB vide card and 64GB RAM. I get this error frequently. Sometimes it converts OK, but mostly I get this. The images were imported into my catalog, with the only edit being cropping and setting white balance. Using Lightroom Classic 14.2. Any ETA on a fix yet?

Just chiming in, same issue after updating OS X.
2019 Mac Pro 12-core, 96GB RAM, Radeon W5700X
OS X 15.4
LR v14.1.1

Downgrading is not an option as I’ll lose my work.

I find it is more reliable when I click on an image, option-click the first step in history, and then manually crop and apply. I got through many images before NLP crashed. If it helps, it is crashing in LUA. Here is a part of the stack trace

At this point it doesn’t seem like we are gonna get a fix. Soo might aswell move on, do you have any good alternatives to a similar software?

Don’t know if this will help, as everyone seems to have stopped with using on old version of Lightroom, but this problem has a new wrinkle for me. Sometimes I get the internal error once. Usually I can just close it and try again a few times. Converting rolls like this one picture at a time (forget about batch, it never works for me) is a slog. But sometimes I get 3 copies of the window with the error and I need to force quit Lightroom. This is not good, I don’t need catalog corruption. BTW this popped up when I was converting one photo, not three.

At this point, can I expect a fix at all? Seems like it’s been a long time and even the new up and coming version does not fix this. Is it time to just give up? I don’t want to do that, but I’ve also lost confidence in a fix ever happening.

The fix is on the way and you can test a late beta from this post.

I’ve been using this beta for a while, it works fairly well and should be close to what is soon to be published by @nate. NLP 3.0.2 and the new version can co-exist, at least they do on my Macs: put the original plugin aside, install the beta and put the original plugin back. Rename the plugins for clarity.

Just pm’d you all.
