An internal error has occurred. ?:0: attempt to index a nil value

I installed LrC 13.4 and 13.5 to and fro a few times and the catalog was never duplicated or migrated on my Macs. Installing LrC 14 is different case, but Lr warns about migrating the catalog. It pays to wait with major updates … or have a backup.

Maybe you can try again with LrC 13.4 and a backup copy of your latest LrC 13.5 catalog?

Whatever the problem is, it is still there on Sequoia v15.1 and LR Classic v14.0.1. Is there going to be a fix soon? I’m super happy to help giving more debugging info, but converting photos 1 at a time is not viable and makes the software much less useful to me.

I got a variation of the error with some extra info, @nate. In this one it mentions the field whitePointOrigin as the culprit. Hopefully it is helpful.

Thanks, this worked! I must have tried only the 14 catalog and since my previous catalog was named v13.5 I made an assumption that this would not work either.

I’s good practice to duplicate the catalog files and rename them.
It helps to fall back, should it be necessary.

I’m also having this problem. Hope you find a fix soon, Nate!

Just got back a roll of film from my lab (first in a couple of months). I’m using a MacBookPro M1 Max with NLP 3.0.2 and Lightroom 14.0.1 here. I managed to convert 1 individual negative successfully, but now I get this same error that everyone else is reporting every time, whether trying to convert a single negative or a batch of negatives.

…and te same fix applies: Lightroom Classic 13.4!

Read more about it in earlier posts in here.

Last day(s) for checking your Amazon store. It might offer substantial discounts:

I figured out a workaround by deleting and re-importing the original digital photos of the negatives and then starting the NLP workflow fresh. My hunch is that NLP likes files that have very few (if any) modifications to them in the develop panel history. I was originally getting the error while trying to convert negatives that had errored in NLP previously and therefore had many NLP-applied edits on them already. By deleting the files and re-importing the originals, NLP had untouched photos and it worked. Might be worth a try for anyone still experiencing this bug.

Hello
i have the same issue…
any news guys?

For now, the way to resolve this is to downgrade your version of Lightroom Classic to 13.4. The bug you are experiencing only happens on a very specific hardware/software combo, and I am not able to replicate it on my machine. I’ve just ordered a computer from eBay that should allow me to replicate this error and either fix directly, or provide Adobe with information on what needs to be fixed.
