When I open the Negative Lab Pro, my previously existing edits change automatically out of what I had before, then revert back to what I want when the window closes. I want to apply and sync the edits I have to other exposures, but the settings keep changing - how to i stop this? Or even if i wanted to make small tweaks to an image I already have edits applied to?
Welcome to the forum @leahblom
If these edits work on most of your images, you might want to save the settings as a preset and make it your default, see screen below.
Sometimes, the presets aren’t stored though. Search the forum, there are posts about how to solve this issue.
Is there a way to make it a preset on my original edits, without having to redo my edits after it automatically clears them when I open the editing window?
Try the following
- select a converted file that looks good
- launch NLP
- select “Create New Preset…” and follow directions
- select “Make Default…”
- etc.
Trying things with NLP is easy and non destructive, specially when you do your first steps on copies of your original files. Click around and see what the different settings and presets do.
Consider this: a setting or preset may work well on a (bunch of) image(s) but that does not mean that the setting/preset will work equally well on all images. The reason for this is, that NLP analyses image(s) and adapts to brightness, contrast, colours etc. Be prepared to having to tune images individually from time to time.
