Hotkey doesn't work on Windows 10

Hotkey function doesn’t work.

Windows 10
Lightroom 14.5
RTX 2060
(All fully up to date)

NegativeLabHotKey.exe is running and loaded at start up

When Ctrl-Alt-n pressed the plug-in doesn’t load.

Have tried putting the program as an exception and not to be scanned in Avast anti-virus
NegativeLabHotKey.exe set to run as administrator and in Win8 compatibility mode.

Any suggestions to resolve this please ?

Other than this NLP work well if selected via the LR menu

Welcome to the forum @Rhossydd

Hotkey settings can change as you can read here:

Other users had problems with their hotkey settings and the solutions can usually be found in the respective threads. Search the forum for “hotkey”, “shortcut”, “keyboard shortcut” and similar terms and you might find the hints that help to fix the issue you have.

I have waded through as many of the threads on the topic I can find here and most aren’t relevant. Lots are for foreign language issues, installation issues, Mac OSs or much older versions of the software.

The hotkey program launches at start up and I’ve occasionally seen a part of the NLP interface flicker on screen when the hotkey combination is pressed, so the puzzle is why the plug-in closes immediately on launch.

I think I’ve found the problem. NLP uses the same shortcut keystroke to load as another plug-in (Any Filter). You can only see the short cut if you open that menu item via key strokes rather than the mouse, so it’s not obvious at all.

If I disable Any Filter NLP’s hot key works.

The question now is; can the short cut in the plugin be changed so it doesn’t clash with other plugins ?

Oh, didn’t think of that. And never needed to - because I keep plugins disabled, except the ons(s) I work with in a session. Thanks for the hint!

Final solution;
It was possible to edit a file (info.lua) in the AnyFilter plug-in to reassign or delete the keyboard short cut for the plugin that clashed with NLP.
I was happy to loose that shortcut as I normally access AnyFilter via the menu.

All now works as expected, but I need to be aware that a future update to AnyFilter may restore that shortcut or that another new plugin may have a similar issue.

Big thanks to John Ellis the AnyFilter author for his speedy and help support resolving this, it’s a great plugin check it out;

Interesting … if it can cope with NLP settings, e.g. “find all conversions done with pre-saturation set to 5”

It has a free free trial…

But yes, it should be able to from a quick test.
