I use NLP V3 and multiple times every week, the Ctl+Alt+N hotkey stops working. When using the hotkey, nothing at all happens. Every other hotkey in lightroom continues to work as normal. The only way to open NLP is to go through the File>Plugin Extras>NLP which is incredibly frustrating.
Reloading the plugin does nothing. Ending LrC in task manager does nothing. The only way I’ve found to resolve this issue is to restart my computer. Which sounds like a simple solution, except I’m constantly running other processes in which I’m unable to restart my computer until they complete, otherwise I’ll have to restart the entire process. Then I’m basically stuck launching NLP like a caveman for several hours.
Hmm, not sure why it is stopping, but for Windows, it is just a little app in the background that should be running in your system tray. It starts automatically when Windows is launched, which is why restarting is working for you.
Two things you can try:
Figure out why it is stopping unexpectedly. It should continue to run on it’s own, so it could be that another process (like antivirus software or Windows Defender) has gotten a little too aggressive. If that’s they case, you should be able whitelist the app so that is isn’t killed.
Restart just the NLPHotkey app. You don’t have to restart your computer to get it running again. Just hit Win + R to bring up the “run” menu, then copy/paste this there: "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\NegativeLabHotkey.exe"
