Hmm, not sure why it is stopping, but for Windows, it is just a little app in the background that should be running in your system tray. It starts automatically when Windows is launched, which is why restarting is working for you.

Two things you can try:

  1. Figure out why it is stopping unexpectedly. It should continue to run on it’s own, so it could be that another process (like antivirus software or Windows Defender) has gotten a little too aggressive. If that’s they case, you should be able whitelist the app so that is isn’t killed.

  2. Restart just the NLPHotkey app. You don’t have to restart your computer to get it running again. Just hit Win + R to bring up the “run” menu, then copy/paste this there:
    "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\NegativeLabHotkey.exe"
